Creating your account
One sign-up journey for individuals, companies, liberal professions, NGOs, accounting firms and invitations.
Registration has one address: Register (/register). Every step has its own address (/register/<step>), and progress is saved on the server after each step — you can close the tab and continue later where you left off.
1. What do you want to do
The first screen asks what brings you to Brivio. Your choice decides which steps follow; you can change it at any time, and whatever you already filled in that still applies stays saved.
| Choice | Steps that follow |
|---|---|
| Personal account | account → profile (optional) → done. You enter the app straight away. |
| I already have a company (SRL, SA, PFA, II, IF and other forms) | account → find the company → details → import (optional) → team (optional) → done |
| Liberal profession (lawyer, medical practice, notary, bailiff, expert accountant) | the same steps as a company |
| NGO or association (association, foundation, federation, homeowners' association) | the same steps as a company |
| I want to set up a company | account → done; the formation case continues in the formation module |
| I am an accountant / accounting firm | account → find the firm → details → your clients (optional) → team (optional) → done |
| I received an invitation | account → done; the invitation already names the organization |
Not sure? Choose Personal account — you can add a company at any time without losing anything.
Just want to look? Try (/try) opens, in one click, a temporary demo account with a complete demo company. The demo account has no e-mail, cannot send anything outside Brivio (invoices, e-Factura, invitations, payments) and is erased automatically after 24 hours unless you turn it into a real account.
2. Account
The simplest option is a passkey — fingerprint, face or device PIN, no password. You can also use Google, Microsoft or e-mail and password. Your account is you as a person; companies are added separately, so you can work for several of them without new accounts.
3. Find the entity
Type the CUI or the name. Brivio checks the CUI control digit and takes the official data from ANAF (name, address, registration number, VAT). If ANAF does not answer you can fill the form in by hand; the data is verified automatically later.
If the company is already registered in Brivio by someone else, a second organization is never created. You send an access request to the current owner, who approves or declines it from Settings → Team. Approval adds you as a member; it does not transfer ownership. If you prove to ANAF, with your qualified certificate, that you represent the company, the request becomes a dispute reviewed by the Brivio team — never an automatic takeover.
4. Details
You confirm the legal form, tax regime, VAT and CAEN codes. Brivio checks as you type:
- The trade register number, in both the old format (
J40/1234/2015) and the new one in force since 26.07.2024. - CAEN codes (Rev.3): the maximum allowed for the legal form (PFA 5, II and IF 10), activities no private entity may carry, SA-only activities, activities a PFA/II/IF may not carry, activities that must be the only or the main one, and those that need prior authorisation. For a Rev.2 code it proposes the Rev.3 equivalents.
- Age: you must be at least 18 to create or administer an entity, and at least 16 for a personal account. The birth date is derived from the CNP, which is encrypted and shown with its last 4 digits only.
Not sure which tax regime suits you? Tick "my accountant decides": the Team step then offers to invite your accountant first.
You also see advice that applies to you, without being blocked: no Romanian bank account (risk of being declared fiscally inactive), the SRL minimum share capital, the 2026 micro-company conditions (100,000 EUR ceiling, at least one employee, one micro-company per shareholder above 25 %) and the 60-day SPV archive window.
5. Optional steps
- Import — bring data over from other software; the import runs in the background.
- Team — invite your accountant or colleagues.
- Your clients (accounting firms) — add clients in bulk by CUI.
Any optional step can be skipped and picked up again from the checklist inside the app.
Continue on another device
"Continue on your phone" shows a QR code and a link that works once, for 15 minutes, and reopens registration exactly where you left off.
Easy-reading mode
The button in the header turns on larger text, one field per screen and no time limits. The preference is saved with your registration.
Add another company
From the Organizations page in the app (or, inside a demo company, from the "register your real company" banner) you come back into the same journey, straight to choosing the entity type.
Identity verification
You can explore, create drafts and import data without any verification. Actions with a fiscal or external effect need a verified identity — see Identity verification.
